Itinerary:
Day 1
Delhi ( 315m ) - Chandigarh ( 365m ) - Shimla ( 2205m
); 4 hours by train and then 3 hours by car
Leave Delhi for Chandigarh by Shatabadi Express at 07.40 in the morning. Escort to hotel for rest. Hang around the Mall and Ridge in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2
Shimla ( 2205m ) - Naldehra ( 2044m; 18km ); Naldehra (
2044m ) - Kufri ( 2633m; 26km ); Kufri - Shimla ( 16km )
After breakfast, visit Jakhu temple. Located at the town’s
highest point the temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Visit
Naldehra - 18km from Shimla. It has a nine-hole golf course
designed by British Viceroy Lord Curzon. After visit Naldehra
we take you to Kufri - famous for the panoramic view it
offers and for the skislopes. We return to Shimla hotel
for rest.
Day 3
Shimla ( 2205m ) - Manali ( 2050m; 260km; 6 - 7 hour drive
)
After a refreshing breakfast, leave for Manali. Check in
to hotel for rest. Evening is free to visit Manali Market.
Back to the hotel for dinner and stay.
Day 4
In and around Manali ( 2050m )
After breakfast visit famous Hadimba temple - a famous woodwork
in Pagoda style architecture. Explore the Nagar castle and
Roerich Art Gallery - dedicated to the Russian painter Nicholas
Roerich who married the Indian cine idol Devika Rani and
stayed there. Visit Rohtang Pass (3978m ) and visit Vashist
famous for its hot water springs. Later, back to hotel for
dinner and stay.
Day 5
Manali ( 2050m ) - Dharamshala ( 1387m; 240km; 7 - 8hrs
drive)
We leave Manali for Dharamshala. En route we visit Bir Monastery
where you could visit the Tibetan carpet weaving factory
as we drive towards Dharamshala, check in to hotel for dinner
overnight stay.
Day 6
In and around Dharamshala ( 1387m ) - Mcleodganj ( 1770m
)
After breakfast visit Norbulinga Institute of Tibetan Culture
which was founded by Department of Religion and Culture
to preserve Tibetan culture and visit Chinmaya Tapovan,
which was established by Swami Chinmayanand, There is also
a 9m tall Lord Hanuman image and Ram Temple. Evening is
free to visit market at Mcleodganj known as little Lhasa.
Mcleodganj is the residence of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
Check in to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay
Day 7
Dharamshala ( 1387m ) - Delhi ( 315m ) (Overnight journey
by 2X2 Luxury bus).
Day 8
Arrival in Delhi ( 315m ).
